This course teaches Active Directory® administrators how to configure Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in a distributed environment, implement Group Policy, perform backup and restore, and monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory–related issues with Windows Server® 2012 and Windows Server2012 R2. In addition, this course teaches how to deploy the other Active Directory server roles, such as Active Directory Federated Services (AD FS), Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), and Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS). After completing this course, students will be able to implement and configure the different Active Directory server roles in their Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 enterprise environments.

The course is intended for existing IT professionals who have Active Directory experience and who are looking for training on the core and advanced Identity and access technologies in Windows Server 2012. This would typically include: AD DS administrators who are looking to train in advanced identity and access technologies with Windows Server 2012. System or infrastructure administrators with general AD DS experience and knowledge who are looking to cross train into core and advanced AD DS in Windows Server 2012. IT professionals who do not have as much hands on experience as listed earlier but who have taken the 10967A Fundamentals of a Windows Server Infrastructure and are looking to build upon that knowledge of AD DS. By the end of this training, you will have a comprehensive understanding of Active Directory Domain Services and the skills needed to deploy, configure, and manage AD DS in a Windows Server environment. You will learn how to manage user and group accounts, implement group policies for centralized management, secure the Active Directory infrastructure, and troubleshoot common issues.
Experience with AD DS concepts and technologies. Experience working with and configuring Windows Server 2012. Experience working with and troubleshooting core networking infrastructure technologies such as name resolution, IP Addressing, Domain Name System and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Experience working with Microsoft® Hyper-V® and basic Server Virtualization concepts. An awareness of basic security best practices. Experience working with Windows® Client operating systems such as Windows Vista®, Windows 7 or Windows 8.
