Professional Scrum Master™ II (PSM II) Course Prerequisites:

  • Scrum Experience: You should have substantial practical experience working as a Scrum Master in a professional environment. This means you have actively fulfilled the role of a Scrum Master for a significant duration, working with Scrum Teams to facilitate Scrum events, remove impediments, and ensure the adoption of Scrum principles and practices.
  • Certification: While not always mandatory, many training providers and organizations prefer candidates to have already achieved the Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) certification as a prerequisite. PSM I is considered a foundational certification, and PSM II builds upon this knowledge.
  • Scrum Knowledge: You should have a deep understanding of Scrum principles, practices, and the Scrum Guide. Familiarity with advanced Scrum topics, such as scaling Scrum, handling organizational challenges, and coaching Scrum Teams, is beneficial.
  • Interest and Commitment: PSM II training is designed for Scrum Masters who are committed to advancing their skills and knowledge to effectively address complex challenges within their teams and organizations. Your genuine interest in Scrum and continuous improvement is essential.
  • Preparation: It’s recommended to review the Scrum Guide thoroughly and refresh your knowledge of Scrum principles and practices before attending PSM II training. This will help you have a strong foundation to build upon during the course.
  • Experience Sharing: Be prepared to share your real-world experiences and challenges as a Scrum Master during the training. PSM II is highly interactive, and participants often discuss their practical experiences to gain insights and solutions.
